Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18 (NLT) O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
YOU WERE MADE ON PURPOSE!
Psalm 143:10 (NLT) Teach me to do you will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on firm footing.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
1 Thessalonians 5:11-17 (NLT, excerpts) So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. ... Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. ... but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful. Never stop praying.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT) Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
YOU WERE MADE FOR A PURPOSE!
Gracious Heavenly Father,
Forgive us when we allow the struggles of life to dampen our spirits and drag us down. Remind us that you carefully crafted us with all the gifts, talents, and abilities you intend for us to use for your glory and honor. Renew in us the sense of purpose for which you created us. May all that we think, say, and do be in line with your plan for our lives. Give us hope, and the opportunities to share that hope with others.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
