Never Alone

Isaiah 40:28-29; 41:10 (NLT) Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  ... Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

There are times when it feels as if the weight of the world is on our shoulders. Times of uncertainty. Times of discouragement. Times of poor health. Times of watching family members struggle through various phases of stressful situations. Times of loss of family or friends or even pets. Times of wondering how the world could get any more topsy turvy than it already is. Times of financial concern. Times of loneliness and despair.

First, you are not alone, others have walked similar paths to yours. More importantly, you are never alone, your Heavenly Father knows full well the concerns of your heart and he is never too tired or weak to hear your teardrops fall. He hears the plea that rises from the deepest corners of your heart. And even when your prayers cannot find adequate words, he still knows.

2 Corinthians 4:7-8, 15-18 (NLT) We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. … That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Gracious Heavenly Father,

You know our hearts. You know our hurts. You hear each concern we bring to you. Give us the strength we need to persevere. We may not know the best solutions, but you do. Give us the courage to trust completely in you.

In the name of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, Amen.
