Unfailing Love

Write From My Heart / September 17, 2020 / Unfailing Love

Psalm 94:18-19 (NLT)  I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

We watch the news and are appalled at the chaos in some of our major cities. We hope for a COVID-19 vaccine or treatment and even that gets politicized with some groups wanted to hold off until after the election, and keep things closed down until after the election—as if they think that might help their political causes. Meanwhile, life for everyone of us marches on with financial concerns, health concerns, aging concerns, family issues, and the like. How easy it is to momentarily lose grasp of God’s unfailing love for us. Just a few verses prior to this passage, the Psalmist reminds us:

Psalm 94:9 (NLT)  Is he deaf—the one who made your ears? Is he blind—the one who formed your eyes?

When the burdens of the day seem to weigh us down, we can trust in God’s unfailing love to support us. He sees the troubles surrounding us. He hears our pleas for mercy and strength. He knows the deepest concerns of our hearts. We can fill our minds with a renewed sense of hope and cheer because we trust a God who knows and understands everything in our path, and whose unfailing love reaches us in every situation.

Psalm 94:22 (NLT)  But the LORD is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide.
