The LORD is Your Constant

Malachi 2:6  I the LORD do not change…

            Perhaps some of the most comforting and reassuring words come from these six simple words. In a world that constantly changes according to the whims and desires of various groups it’s hard to keep up with all the new laws, rules, and socially acceptable standards. As Christians we must follow laws and do what is right; but we are NOT called to bend and fold to the whims and wishes of what society deems acceptable. In fact, Christians are called to remain true to what God’s written word declares. The Bible is our Standard. Furthermore, we have the assurance that our LORD is always consistent.

            When your life seems topsy-turvy and uncertainties seem to dominate, remember your Heavenly Father does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and for all tomorrows. On Him you can depend.

Gracious Heavenly Father,

            Thank you for being the true constant in our lives. Forgive our inconsistencies. Calm our fears and quiet our minds, give us strength for the day’s challenges.

            In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
