Quiet Contemplation - Day 25

Psalm 13:5-6 (NIV)
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.

My life has been a good one. Now, I’m sure those of you who know me personally question that statement in view of some of the tragedies I’ve faced in early years. But I stand by what I said, my life has been a good one!
I have confidence in that statement because my Lord has always been with me. He brought people into my life to provide guidance, encouragement, and to teach me about God’s love and faithfulness. Through it all, and in everything—good and bad alike—God has never been more than a prayer away.  That is especially comforting in this turbulent time of our nation. Confusing and conflicting stories about COVID-19, what to do, what not to do, where one can go or not go…what a mess! Groups, special causes, riots, and political opinions can leave one feeling frustrated, confused, and depressed.
When you feel like all is lost and our nation is crumbling around us, stop, take a deep breath, and offer a silent prayer of thankfulness that our Heavenly Father knows our anxieties. He is there with unfailing love to comfort us.

Gracious Heavenly Father,
How often we lose hope because we are looking around us instead of looking to you. Quiet our anxieties with your peace and comfort our fearful hearts with your unfailing love.
In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Respectfully written and submitted by
Dotty Willmon, Resurrection Christian—looking for the blessed hope of Christ’s return!
