One Generation Away

Psalm 71:17-18 (NLT)
O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do. Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

            Recently many commentators have either referenced or quoted a statement originally made by President Ronald Regan. To name just a few, men like Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, and Sean Hannity have either summarized or quoted, either on talk shows, interviews or in their recent books. These are wise men who give urgent council to our nation regarding freedom. But the message is a profound statement and a caution that should be heeded by every American; therefore, it bears repeating: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” ~~Ronald Regan, July 6, 1987, Annual Convention of Kiwanis International.
            My dear friends, the same can be said for our faith in God! If we do not teach our children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews what it means to trust in Almighty God, Creator of all that is; and, to trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, it is not only our freedom as a nation that lies in jeopardy, but our eternal hope as well. Now is the time to raise up strong believers in Christ, believers who might one day grow to become leaders of our nation. Leaders who understand both the precious gift of freedom in our nation and the blessings of Sovereign, Almighty God.
            My dear friends, being asked to stay at home is not a burden; it is an opportunity to teach the next generation!
