BOUNDARY - BARRIER

Write From My Heart

September 23, 2021

BOUNDARY  anything marking a limit

BARRIER  anything that holds apart

Jeremiah 5:21-23, 25 (NIV) Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear: Should you not fear me? declares the LORD. Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it. But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away. … Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good.

What was true in Jeremiah’s day is still true today—the oceans and seas are still contained by the boundaries of shoreline.  What was true in Jeremiah’s day is still true today—sin and wrongdoing keeps us apart from our Heavenly Father and the good he would bestow upon us.

Jeremiah 5:30-31 (NIV) A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?

What was true in Jeremiah’s day is still true today—the people love evil.

But what will you do in the end?
