DELIGHTS to be highly pleased

 

Psalm 147:11 (NIV) The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

 

Ponder this: At some point as a parent, you stop telling your kids what to do. You’ve given them all the necessary guidance and training while they were young and you trust they will make the best decisions possible. But when they still come to you and ask your opinion, doesn’t it bring a sense of joy? According to scripture, when we fear God, when we trust him, when we put our hope in his unfailing love—we bring him delight, we please him. We often think about how much we displease God with our poor choices, but how often to we think about our actions (e.g., thought word, deed) bringing him pleasure? What a great motivation it is to be able to please our Creator.
