FAITH unquestioning belief (Part Two)

Hebrews 11:3 (NIV) By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Ponder this: There will always be skeptics. There will always be those who for whatever reason choose not to believe in God. Christians hold fast to the unquestioning belief that God is real and that it was he who created the planet on which we live, humans and every other living thing that inhabits it, as well as the universe we endeavor to explore. Non-Christians believe in something called “the Big Bang” theory which occurred by random happenstance absent of a divine Creator. Christians understand the biggest bang of all occurred when God spoke the universe into existence.

Genesis 1:1 (NIV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 24:1 (NIV) The earth is the LORD’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it…

Psalm 33:6 (NIV) By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

Psalm 33:8-9 (NIV) Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

There will always be skeptics. There will always be those who doubt. But they are without excuse. Even within the scientific community are those who are unafraid to speak with confidence. Sir Fred Hoyle, leading mathematician and scientist, who considered himself to be a free-thinking atheist states: “If one proceeds directly and straightforwardly in this matter, without being deflected by a fear of incurring the wrath of scientific opinion, one arrives at the conclusion that biomaterials with their amazing measure of order must be the outcome of intelligent design,” (Evolution from Space, 1982). And he further states: “The reason scientists like the ‘big bang’ is because they are overshadowed by the Book of Genesis. It is deep within the psyche of most scientists to believe in the first page of Genesis,” (A Mile or Two off Yarmouth, 2014).

Romans 1:20 (NIV) For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eterernal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
