Quiet Contemplation - Day 41

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Yesterday, we celebrated Independence Day. But today is an even greater celebration. Today is the Lord’s day and we should rejoice. The scripture selected for today is most likely familiar enough to you that you might even have memorized it at some time. It is simple and concise. We are to be a people of joy and thanksgiving—no matter what current circumstances may be—because we know the power of the one, true, Holy God who is in control of all things. We can stay connected with him through prayer.
Today, look around you and see the many reasons you have for joy.  It is the Lord’s day, honor him with joy and thanksgiving.

Gracious Heavenly Father,
Today we thank you for the gift of salvation, grace through the cost of your only Son, Jesus Christ. Every day, but especially today, we bring honor and glory to you through the joy in our hearts. Thank you for the generous blessings you give.
In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Respectfully written and submitted by
Dotty Willmon, Resurrection Christian—looking for the blessed hope of Christ’s return!
