Quiet Contemplation - Day 48

Acts 3:19-21 (NIV)
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Acts 4:12 (NIV)
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

As we find ways to worship our Heavenly Father on this wonderful Lord’s Day, our message is clear and simple. There is coming a time, and I do believe it is soon, that this world marred by sin will be restored. Nothing tainted by sin or the effects of sin will exist beyond that point—all will be made new. The stark reality for mankind is that only those who have accepted the call to repentance will be saved.
Worshiping on the Lord’s Day is a way to remember and give thanks for God’s mercy and redemptive plan. It is because of the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Christ that we have the means of salvation. Our part is to repent and believe in Christ and to give our thankful praise to God for his mercy.

Gracious Heavenly Father,
We are marred by sin—in thought, or word, or deed—by what we have done, or perhaps by what we have left undone. Forgive us where we fail you and redeem us through the blood of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Guide us to walk in newness of life in you. We give to you all the praise and glory.
In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Respectfully written and submitted by
Dotty Willmon, Resurrection Christian—looking for the blessed hope of Christ’s return!
