Trust in the Lord

Jeremiah 17:7  Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Most of us would be in pretty rough shape if left to our own understanding. We might be able to draw on past experiences for guidance or learn from the experiences of others. Those ideas work at least to some extent. However, the Christian life is blessed because we have confidence in someone who doesn’t just know our past but He also knows our current circumstances as well as our future. Our God is not simply the God of possibilities, but He is the God of all possible possibilities. Let that sink in for just a moment.

So my choice (and yours) is this: Would I rather rely on my own knowledge or trust the omniscient God of all possible possibilities?

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Forgive our arrogance of thinking we can do things on our own. We acknowledge your omniscience and fully place our trust in you. Thank you for caring so deeply for each one of us. Thank you for the guidance and direction we read in your Word and receive each day from your Holy Spirit.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
