Be the Best Blip Possible

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yeta no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Isaiah 55:9  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

This morning I was caught off guard by a tiny footnote I had never noticed before. In the Ecclesiastes verse, footnote a reads:  [a11 Or, also placed ignorance in the human heart so that…]

For me, that is the best descriptor possible. I am able to grasp that time for God does not operate on the scale that our human minds can fully comprehend. I know that the one Triune God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—have always existed, still exist today, and will always exist in the future. Moreso, that God does not skip between time periods but is in all time the same Holy Triune Almighty God.

Seasons come. Seasons go. World trials and stresses come and go. Human life is but a tiny blip compared to eternity, but it is up to us to make it the best blip possible; for one day soon, when Christ comes again, we will receive the promise of understanding what it means to be with our Lord for all eternity. What a blessed day of rejoicing and thanksgiving that will be.

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Thank you for allowing us the amount of understanding you trust us to handle. Thank you that there will be deeper understanding yet to come. Thank you for the promise of eternity with you made possible through salvation in Christ.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
