LIGHT that which makes it possible to see; the source of light
Isaiah 60:1 (NIV) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
Ponder this: Isaiah warns the people to get up, wake up, and pay attention. Our function as a Christian is to shine (i.e., reflect) Christ to a lost and dying world. How are we able to do this? At the risk of sounding simplistic, we are able to reflect Christ because he is our true source of light. We are able to be the light of the world [Matthew 5:14] because he is light and in him there is no darkness [1 John 1:5]. The question for us is how well do we make it possible for others to see the light of Christ?
