SIGNS something that indicates a fact

Luke 21:25-28 (NIV) There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

 

Ponder this: The fact is that Christ will come again. He has given us his promise and his word is truth, [see John 14:3]. We are no better than Pharisees or Sadducees when we seek miraculous signs including all forms of sooth-saying and divination. Jesus Christ has made it clear through his teachings that the only sign required is that of Jonah, [explained Matthew 12:38-40]. And yet, God in his mercy has provided and will continue to provide numerous signs of his omnipotence so that all may believe in him. Not only this, but signs are clearly evident that we are living in what many Biblical scholars refer to as “the last days”—those days drawing ever closer to Christ’s return.

 

From Matthew 24:4-25, as well as many other scriptures, we find just a few of the indications that Christ’s return is imminent. Some of these “signs” or indications include: wars, rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, famines, earthquakes, persecution, many turning away from the faith, hatred, false prophets, increased wickedness, love of many grows cold, false Christs deceiving many with great signs and miracles. Do any of these seem familiar as you listen to the daily news or see what is happening in our world today? Truly there is little time left. Now is the time to repent and make sure your heart is right with God. Do not delay. He has given you all the signs you need to believe in him.
