SERVE

Write From My Heart

May 31, 2021

SERVE  to work for; to be used by

Psalm 100:2-3 (NIV)  Serve the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Ponder this: In our Nation, we set aside this day as Memorial Day—the day we recognize all those men and women in every branch of military service who gave his or her life while serving our country. They lost their lives so we could live ours. We may or may not be called to serve our country as did they, but we are called as Christians to serve God, and to do so willingly and joyfully. We are to serve him with our best effort in all we do.

Give of Your Best to the Master (H.B.G.)

                                                    #358, Advent Christian Hymnal (1952)

Give of your best to the Master; Give of the strength of your youth; Throw your soul’s fresh glowing ardor Into the battle for truth. Jesus has set the example; Dauntless was He, young and brave; Give Him your loyal devotion, Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master’ Give Him first place in your heart; Give Him first place in your service, Consecrate every part. Give, and to you shall be given; God His beloved Son gave; Gratefully seeking to serve Him, Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master; Naught else is worthy His love; He gave Himself for your ransom, Gave up His glory above: Laid down His life without murmur, You from sin’s ruin to save; Give Him your heart’s adoration, Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master; Give of the strength of your youth; Clad in Salvation’s full armor, Join in the battle for truth.
