SHINE to exhibit itself clearly
Isaiah 60:1 (NIV) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
Ponder this: We recognize the most common definition of shine as the emission or reflection of light. For the Christian, we understand that if our heart is focused upon the world, then it will be the world and its values we reflect toward others—and if our heart is focused upon Christ, then it will be Christ and his teachings we reflect toward others. Yet there is another definition worthy of consideration if we hope to add depth to our walk with the Lord. Do we hide in the shadows and only reflect Christ when it is convenient, safe, or when we are comfortably in the company of Christian friends? How clearly do we exhibit our love for Christ in worldly settings? How well do we shine?
