FAMINE extreme scarcity; a great shortage

 

Amos 8:11-12 (NIV) “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.”

 

Ponder this: How much of your daily time is spent delving into God’s Word? Is your Bible readily accessible or does it take you a while to remember where you last saw it? We are living in uncertain times and it is critical for us as Christians to renew our commitment for reading God’s Word daily. As it has been said, the Bible is the bread of life not merely cake for special occasions.
