POWER ability to do or act; authority

 

Luke 21:25-28 (NIV) There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

 

Ponder this: Omnipotent God has bestowed upon his begotten Son, Jesus Christ, all power and authority in heaven and on the earth. This is The Christ who redeems us and The Christ whom we follow. When the end days are upon us, Christ who is all-powerful will come again. We place our trust in him. Through his power and might he provides our strength and comfort.

 

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All power (KJV) / authority (NIV) in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

 

Ephesians 1:18-23 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

 

It is the power of God through salvation in Christ that will sustain every Christian throughout whatever terrible times lay ahead of us. And when Christ returns, he will come in all the power bestowed upon him by the Lord God Almighty. His power will provide all the strength we need to trust in him.
