REDEMPTION

Write From My Heart

May 23, 2021

REDEMPTION that which sets free; rescues; delivers from sin and its penalties

Luke 21:25-28 (NIV) There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Ponder this: The sad state of our world is that many people wander through life in denial—Why do I need saving if I haven’t done anything wrong? Since the moment man first took his focus off of his Creator and began to follow after that which was created, sin forever altered the course of time.

Psalm 51:5  Surely I have been a sinner from birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Romans 3:23 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Yet, God planned in advance for the salvation of all who would turn to him.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Furthermore, anyone who willingly comes to Christ will not be denied salvation. Salvation is a free gift, you cannot work for it, nor can you pay for it. The price has already been paid through the death and resurrection of Christ.

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Romans 10:13 ..for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

There is just one catch, no gift can be yours until you reach out and take it. You must accept the gift of salvation paid for by Christ. Will you accept Christ today? Then when he returns, it will be to rescue you from the destruction assigned to a sinful world—at that time, stand up and lift up your heads, for your redemption is drawing near!
